Title: Stick Baits
Post by: Billmo on 04/09/12 21:00 UTC
Any hints on plastic to salt ratio when you guys are making stick baits.. I have been using 1/4 cut salt to 3/4 cut plastic..  and im using part hard plastic(1/2cup), part soft plastic(1/4cup). Some of the guys using these really like the feel of these baits and other guys say they are too hard?  Im not looking for anyones secret formula just some guide lines to try and follo

Its all about how you want the bait 2 fall. If your lookng for something similar 2 the yamamoto senko a good starting point would be 1 cup plastic (soft) 1/4 cup softner half cup salt.  I myself only buy med plastic now cause it seems 2 be the best all around for my needs and the 1/4 softner in it is pretty close 2 a plain soft plastic. Play around and c what you like best

As suggested, you may want to try a a cup with just soft plastic as the salt does stiffen the baits up. When I did sticks, I used M-F super soft as my base. The wiggle was really good and I could jack them with salt without the bait being to hard....
