Title: Vinyl Foil Wrapping ... perhaps a bad idea

This is the best result that I obtained with a Chinese Vinyl Wrapping Foil over a Chinese Top Water Plug.
FYI in such foil there is not a top protective film, as showed in several videos.
Even if I tried to stretch more as possible this film using a thermic gun, it is too stiff to be correctly applied to undercuts as head details ... I think that I will continue with the simpliest Nail Art Foils ... Chinese of course.
Guys, have you got more luck than me with the Vinyl Wrapping Foil? if yes, is there a particular foil to search?
Bye

The only foils I have used are for fingernail treatments and for embossing paper card stock and they both have the thin backer. These foils are extremely thin while what you show appears to be considerably thicker, stiffer. I've also used the foil products used in gilding wood products and these have no backer, just a super thin foil that's dull on the glue side and shiny on the exposed side. While this is a product that shows promise I haven't really spent too much time with it. I have enough to gold plate a Corvette, just not enough time. The foils used for fingernails are the cat's meow if you're doing smaller work, but for work the size of that lure I use a product from  Americancrafts.com  called foil quill. I buy it in the gold and silver and it has the thin backer. The sheets are 4" X 6" and come 30 sheets to the package for about $8.00. I bought my supply at a local JoAnn Fabrics. There is another web address on the packaging for this product which is  wermemorymakers.com. The product color name is goldfinch for the gold transfer I get. Very easy and clean to use, this product.

Hi CTom, yes the vinyl wrapping foil (mine is a real beautiful pinkish holographic shifting color) is similar to the adhesive vinyl roll sold by American Crafts, but are they soft and stretchable to replicate the curves of a crank?
Another Guy of the Italian Lure Makers Forum tried with some foils of Teckwrap, found on Amazon site, but it is not so easy to find such foils and they are a little bit more expensive. The vinyl Jigskinz idea is not so bad, but I would like to find only vinyl foils with shifting color base .. simple to use.

Have looked into foil but with some many other thing I do I’ve lost interest in foiling for now. But that top water looks really cool.
