Finally had some time (though not much) to get out on the water while I had some food on the pit getting ready for my sister's engagement party this weekend. Over the past month or so I have been rather addicted to doing open pour swimbaits so that is what I set out to catch some fish on. Water temps were in the high 60's- prime time for the bass to be doing their spawning deal. I didn't come across any big females but caught quite a few chunky males on a 4" open pour fished on a 4/0 flashy swimmer with gold Colorado blade as well as a few on a Texas rigged lizard in my version of scuppernong. With how hectic life has been the past year or so it felt great to finally get out there and lean into a few. Hopefully when I go back this weekend I can reel up a few females.

Good deal. I haven't been since December myself either, but barring any unforseen circumstances i'll change that next weeked. I've usually fished every weekend at night for striper starting in March, but cold tempps , ice storms & floods have kept me off of the lake so far this year & i'm about to lose my mind. ;D

That little pearl belly with grey blue top was getting absolutely torched and, of course, it was the only one I took the to the lake so it was pretty much done after only a handful of fish. Guess that means I'm just going to have to pour up some more
