Title: Trout Worm with ball dual color injection
Post by: Esskie on 06/16/21 00:01 UTC
For the 3" Trout Worm with .312" ball mold. If I wanted different ball color than the worm would I need to buy a .312 ball mold and make that first then place it in mold and shoot the worm? If someone could explain the process for me would be greatly appreciated. The link to the mold in question is shown below. TIA.

Hi Esskie....welcome to the forum!

You would use the same mold.

First you would need to shoot the worms in the desired color that you would like for the ball.  Then you would cut the ball off and place it back in the mold and shoot the worm again with the color that you desire for the rest of the body.

Or you could also buy the ball mold (if available) and use it........totally your preference

Welcome to the Do-It forums Esskie!

The worm mold doesn't take a ton of plastic so unless you're planning to do hundreds of two color baits that ball mold is not needed, just do as alwrenn suggests and save the cut off worm sections for re-melting.
