does anyone here pour swimbaits with a open pour type mold with a top opening?
-
Used to do a lot of them. Poured both 5" and 3.5" versions. Need advise or are you looking for baits?

I bought a 3.5'' one that looks similar to one of them top shelf brand ones body wise. i was wondering how would I go about doing a 2 color deal on them & how well does it bond? I plan on clear coating the eyes on too
-
Yes, I poured that mold hundreds of time. It does take some practice though.
Warm the mold some.

sweet, warming it will make all the colors bond perfectly?
-
Not necessarily. Just will help with the cold cracks between the colors.

ahh i'm understanding now.

Many (like Top Shelf) also pour their molds while on a griddle on low heat. Allows the layers to remain seperated for good colors and prevents the cold cracking.
Here is the only pic I can find of one of the 25 colors I did. Sorry for the clarity!

PS No need to dip the eyes on for these baits. Clean the eye socket well with alcohol and glue eyes into socket with soft plastic baits repair glue.
The baits will look much better and the eyes will last fine.
