....and my carrots.
For the last week I've found several set of new deer tracks in the yard almost daily and today I found out why. I leave my carrots in the ground until its just about ready to freeze solid. The top inch this morning had some ice crystals in it so I thought I'd best take a few minutes to dig my carrots. I took the bucket and spade to the carrot bed and found nothing for tops above ground along with several carrots that had been pulled out of the ground and chewed off. The critters don't have Ma's delicate goodies with flower buds to gnaw on so now they've developed a taste for carrots. This is the first time they've gone after them.
The lawns are pretty much green here yet and grass is everywhere, but they want carrots. Go figure.
