Title: Crappie Jig Mold - Who's fished it?
Post by: DOITDRAKE on 09/26/22 15:01 UTC
Hey Forum!

I was hoping someone could help me out here. Figured it might also just be a good conversation starter about this mold!

I recently spoke with a gentleman on the phone who was interested in a Crappie Jig Mold, and their particular end goal for the finished jig is to tie fly's. Does anyone have any experience with this mold? If so I am personally interested in the action of the jig. Does it Wobble on a straight retrieve/Drift on the fall?

Thanks!

I've had that mold for years and it's a good one for basic panfishing, but I honestly can't say it has any special action to it. It will "slide" and can be skipped fairly easily, depending on how it's dressed.

I like it because it tends to fall flatter than a round head jig, but otherwise all that lead does is add weight for casting & sinking.

I have the Larva jig too.

These are typically how I dress them.
