Title: 3”Tapered Trout Worm
Post by: ctom on 05/05/23 07:48 UTC
This is a nifty little bait. Easy to inject and easy to do tail colors. I haven’t tried the twin injector yet but that’s on the the list.

During the very early and very late open water crappie seasons we've seen a distinct preference for longer, thinner baits at times and this worm will fit right into the tackle arsenal. The Keitech 2-1/2" Swim Impact has been a slick bait when the 2-1/4" Fry or the 1.5" Thump-It has cooled off bite-wise so I am thinking this puppy will be a dandy too.

And on another front, the Trout front, this slinky bait will be put to the test next week, fished just like it's shown rigged for crappies.

The jig heads are modified 1/24 Bat heads on # 6 Victory sickles. Notice the small collar is gone and that the keeper barb has been reduced in length. I left the original line tie eye portion of the mold alone and made a different  cavity  for the 90 degree Victory hooks and used high temp putty to eliminate the collar. All simple mods that make this particular size in the Bat Head my favorite.

I like it.  That mold is a favorite of mine.  It does well for lots of species.

Crappies showed that they like this little worm today.
