Title: The new Weedless Finesse Dart Head Jig
Post by: ctom on 08/26/23 12:06 UTC
Boy, this one is a home run for certain.

Seen from the left and bottom to top is the full spread of head sizes 3/8 to 1/8, all done in the new Green Pumpkin Special powder paint and cast on the suggested Victory 10777 hooks. The purple from the bottom up are done on VMC's 7247 Long Shanked hooks, 3/8 on a 4/0 hook without a keeper, the next three are 5/16 on 2/0 hooks using the WB800 wire keeper and the last couple at 1/4 using the same keeper on a 1/0 hook. Nothing need be done to the mold to cast the long shank hooks, or 570 style for that matter, or to utilize the long keeper wire. The purple powder is a home-brewed color.

The mold is a snap to cast using either hook so the versatility of the mold is a real plus. The heads come out clean and easy either way. This dart head design is a super good current cutting shape and I have every intention os introducing this new jig to walleyes in a month or so.

Man, that mold is versatile. I look forward to seeing what other mods are to follow. I think that green pumpkin special is starting to grow on me. Still a little gun shy after being disappointed on Go Time. I just never could get that color to work. Now, that home brew purple that is very easy on the eyes.

Gotta keep the green pumpkin special fluffed up well. Two quick dips on these heads, but it is a super nice color. I wish the camera's filter hadn't scrubbed the purple in it so bad. There's actually a good amount of purple fleck in the paint but it is fairly transparent.
