Title: 5/16 Finesse Dart Head, modified without modifying the mold
Post by: ctom on 08/27/23 15:39 UTC
Here’s the new Finesse Dart head sporting a VMC long shakes hook, in this case a 4/0. Mounted on the jig is an Essential 3.5” Slick Shiner. What a perfect walleye bait in another month or so.

I like the combo but for me you got the bait on upside-down. Is there a reason for that ?

I just slapped the bait on to show the unit as a whole Lamar. I'd fish the tail down.

I guess it's the OCD in me. It may work that way but I don't know how true it would run.

I've always mounted any bait with a paddle-type of tail with the tail's stem high and the tip down, like just about everybody. Just about everybody. I fished with a fella once that mounted his paddletails just you see I have this one mounted and the fish most certainly didn't mind the difference. Sometimes I think these subtle little nuances that we as anglers develop, like tail up or down, don't actually hinder us at times. Who knows?
