I picked up this custom do it crappie jig mold in 1/16oz and 1/8oz I think are the sizes. Anyone know when do it stopped doing custom requests or when the crappie jig was introduced? Looking to put a circa date on this one. Also, anyone recognize the name Serle Sutton on the mold? Would love to know any history.

That's an oldie for sure. Nice find. Do-It hasn't been in Waterloo for a looooooong time.
The mold face states it was made for Serle Sutton. The mold also is formatted to take what appears to be an aberdeen hook, not a conventional 90 degree jig hook.

Should accept the Mustad Crimped Hooks 33903. I agree, old one indeed with the patent pending, address and the through hing pin. Add in the mold casting with the address is slightly off center but the cavities seem to line up.

Likely from the late 1960s.
Do-it has never really been in custom business. I believe you needed to be a close friend of the original creator of Do-it Molds, Melvin Bond.
We have a couple employees still working here after almost a half of a century, but that mold even outdates them.
Nice find and thanks for sharing.

Likely from the late 1960s.
Do the old timers know the era molds were being made at 3136 Logan Ave and/or at 3624 Logan Ave?
How about when did Do-it Molds became the company name (changing over from Do-it Industries)?
