Tonight we have a "Super", Blue seasonal moon. Super because its roughly 14% larger to the eye because its so close to earth and its a seasonal "blue" moon because its the third in a series of some sort or other. PLUS, its a Sturgeon moon.
I wish to heck that the phone's camera wouldn't filter so much of the true color out of photographs because with all the Canadian smoke in out air here tonight this moon is very close to cherry red to the naked eye. Its absolutely stunning.

I got up at 2am and it was awesome. Suppose to be the same tonight for those who missed it.

I was out walking the dog around 9:30 pm, and the moon was awesome. I could also feel a slight change in the air. Fall won't be far away.

Speaking of fall coming soon, many of our sycamore trees have started changing color and the cherry trees are shedding leaves. I suspect this is related to the drought we have been in. Our lakes and rivers are feeling the effects too. For our local lake to be below winter pool in mid summer is something I don’t remember seeing since it opened in 1986.
