Caught a squamous cell cancer....very early thank God. I've got a cut on the other side of my forehead in almost the same place from another cut a few years ago. They go it all on the first cut so there's no after visit other than to get the stitches pulled.

Son of a bitch that looks painful. Very sorry ctom.

So glad you caught it early. Gotta keep those demons at bay.

The piece they removed was about two inches long, 3/8" wide and 1/4" thick. There are a couple of heavy sutures inside what you see to pull the two sides together. Pain-wise its not really hurting unless it gets bumped or touched. I do Tylenol for the pain if I start noticing it but thus far it's been pretty tame. This spot just didn't seem right to me from experience with others like it and when it began to get really dark and split on the surface I was in the plastics area like a blink. This is #5 that I've had cut out, one being stage two melanoma..

Hang in there CTom! Prayers heading your way

Prayers Lifted for ya buddy. Catching it early is a good thing.

Had that taken off my right cafe a ten years ago. It really woke me up on wear sunscreen. I cover up and have sunscreen on anytime I'm outside now. It's one of those things we did we wish we could go back and change when we were young.

No kidding. Now with this cut I'll be back seeing the dermatologist every 3 months for a year. If nothing more pops up, I'll go back to every six months. As it is I generally have between 11 and 23 spots of suspect pre-cancerous hide froze off per derm visit. Every six months. Same old, same old.
Wear caps when outside and use spf 50 or higher sunscreen liberally. I put on sunscreen on my head and neck every morning after my shower. And I wear a cap when I head outside. I have a whole closet full of the fast dry, uv shirts that I wear during the summer and while fishing. I won't even look at a short sleeved uv shirt, all long sleeved here for this dude. Many are hooded so I can stack the hood up on my neck, or I use a neck gaitor. Contrary to belief, the long sleeved uv shirts are cooler than short sleeves.

Glad to hear you got it early. I hope the check ups go well. I hear you on the long sleeve shirts. A few years back I switched over to them.
