Title: fun first time out catch
Post by: ctom on 03/14/25 09:36 UTC
I hit a local lake that is free of ice on one end and managed to catch three nice crappies. Since I didn't bother with an extra pail for fish I released them. On what was my last cast this guy hit.

I think it was pretty close to four pounds. On this particular lake and where I was fishing we see a strong smallie presence when the water gets to 40-42 degrees, so with todays water at 36 degrees this was a surprise. It hit a 2-1'4" minnow bait on a 1/24  round head with a keeper, cast on Victory #6 round bends.

That’s great. Glad somebody has been able to get out.
