How easy is this mold to work with? I plan on getting one to make me bulk bags of drop shot baits

All the CCM Carrots: They don't get any easier!

sweet! I got one of the bigger ones that Jason sent in a sample pack & drop shotted it then shakey headed it.It had nice action to it but i could see that i needed the skinny version to do what i wanted with it

You should get Denny's input on drop shot carrots. He's the drop shooting expert! I think he had a couple big days on his vac. with drop shot carrots.

I absolutely love drop shotting with a 6" skinny carrot. I used it several weeks ago on Clear Lake and had really good success in a short period of time. I fished at Kids Camp this past weekend (50 kids) and one of the activities was showing them how to pour baits. I probably poured well over a hundred skinny carrots in colors the kids mixed themselves. The following day we had over 30 "pros" that took the kids out fishing for about 4 hours. My kids (sisters 8 and 10 years old) fished their own skinny carrot drop shots. Weird colored baits, but they caught fish all morning. It's a big "in your face" bait to use on a drop shot, but it works.
By the way, Triton, I fish from a 196 Triton with 200 screamin' ETEC horses on the back. My favorite drop shot rod is a 702 Dobyns spinning rod. Almost sounds like we're kindred spirits. Andy also knows that I'm not an expert on anything.

sounds good. the water here is low & i havent been able to get a ledge crankbait bite fired up on kentucky lake YET. I was getting both numbers & size when i was out using a dropshot around rocks & rock break walls (softball to exercise ball size rock). lol maybe we were twins just born at diff times :D

The carrots should Carolina rig well also. Lighter wire hook and maybe a little cheater float about a foot up the leader ;). You don't hear much about Carolina rigging anymore with the extra deep cranks and the Alabama Rigs; and now Crank bait Strolling. It will still put good fish in the boat.

i have a friend thats slowly convincing me to throw one. i usually throw a tx rig & use a bobber stop & leave some play in it when it comes to plastics except i add stuff. ive tried throwing a c rig just never had anything to give me confidence in it
-
Right now it looks like the bite is mid PM on based on TVA's pull schedule. If you are fishing earlier in the day; on lower water pull; I would have a greater tendency to throw a Carolina Rig. The fish will be more scattered, which is a strong point for the C-rig.

had a buddy that said he fished from danville to the north end trying every ledge he could find & only manages a few small mouth.i got a tournament next month im leaving the 24th for.I hope some stuff changes by then,i been hearing the hyrdrilla is coming back so i hope the milfoil coming back just as good. right now theres a good chance imma take a gamble south near or at new johnsonville 40miles from take off, theres lots of shell beds down that way

Dob Bro, the 5" Skinny is a bangin' bait, very versatile and extremely easy to shoot, as are all the Carrots. Drop Shot, Wacky, C-rig, T-rig...but as a Weedless/Weightless Twitch is my favorite. And as i mentioned before, the 5/0 SkipGap fits the 5" Skinny in 2nd-to-None Perfection. I'll be shooting some of these when i get back home, in a few different colors...got some new ideas for the 5" Skinny as a Twitch, in dirty/murky water. If i could only suggest ONE "All Purpose Bass Carrot", it'd be the 5" Skinny.
-
I ordered it last night along with some violet color so i can pull off something close to morning dawn.i cant wait til it gets here!

Awesome. Fishin' here by the yard/office, i've caught a total of 12 Bass. The heaviest i caught was right at dark about an hour or so ago...on a 5" Skinny as a Twitch...and said 5/0. They're also made with enough plastic to cast quite well this way...my main Bass rod is a 7' Shimano Carbomax with a Shimano Cardiff 300 and 15 lb. Seaguar Red Label. Cast a 5" Skinny with ease.
-
thats what i like to hear good catches & something that casts a good way out. I too use seaguar its my go to line of choice

Some other aspects i've seen with this bait as a Twitch, some have been mentioned on the Forum...when rigged "tail horizontal" they have more side-to-side action, which i believe is good in some presentations, and the bait can be fished a little slower, covering less water. Rigged "tail vertical" it has less side-to-side, which looks aLOT like a minnow either running or just poking along, and this seems to cover more water per twitch. Most of my fishing this bait has been right under the surface, so close to the top that it leaves a little wake, across the top of grass beds, but of course, occasionally stopping and letting the bait fall in some spots. You're gonna dig the 5" Skinny!

i can see it becoming one of my many favs. Im anxious it comes tomorrow!
