Title: SUPER FRY IS A KILLER
Post by: toadfrogbaits on 05/26/12 07:21 UTC
Went out Friday armed with 2 colors of super fries . Hot pink/white , chart/white rigged on a beetle spin with deep cup Colorado blades . I caught bass , crappie , every kind of perch that swims around here . Mainly on the hot pink/wht . I quit counting at 80 fish . Got a blister between my fingers from gripping the reel . Needless to say I'm to tired to go today . Plus I got to get them out of the stock tank and clean the darn things .

TFB, there were many trips in Inland Saltwater through the years that left us in similar situations.  The best Fish-vice I can give You...set out the Cut'n Board, Knife, Hose, Large Bowl or Pot.  Get a heavy dose of Water In You, and make the 1st Cut on the 1st Fish.  Keep Cutting.  Know, that every cut You make, is 1 cut closer to Done.  Try to not anticipate Every Next Whole Fish with Dread, but with Thankfulness instead.  Don't get in a rush, trying to get done, but take Your Time so the fillets come out their best...as the Pretty Fillets will motivate You..."butchered" fillets will discourage You.

Don't let Yourself get distracted, this can cause You to "mess up" or even cut Yourself...stay focused on the Job.  You'll be done before You know it...and with a Serious Mess'a Fillets.

Great advice son is cleaning them now I'll go tell him . ;D However I did agree to cook them and make hush puppies And have lots of grape Nehi soda on hand . Three moms and dads coming and six grand girls . Seems like these kids can't have anything but girls . That is ok though 2 of them are coming on strong making tackle . They are only 8 yrs old . Can tie jigs plus shoot plastic . If you say lets go fishing don't get in front of the truck door or you'll get trampled.

I skin and fillet everything.  I prefer skinning even bream.  I think it is almost as quick; and a whole lot less scales everywhere.  A sharp knife helps; as well as almost frozen fish.  We cool ours down to just above freezing with salted ice water slush.  Have to use a neoprene duck hunting glove on the non knife hand.  I think they taste better cleaned this way.   Shady spot; stable surface; and a fan if there is no breeze.

That is the way to go really . My grand father kept coon hounds . He pressure cooked the bony stuff and mixed it with their feed . Shiniest coat on those dogs you ever saw . He kept some in the freezer for winter  . Biljac just thought they came up with the first freezer dog food.
