Hey all-
I thought I'd start a new thread with a little different topic- what is your favorite stirring tool? Personally, I use aluminum BBQ skewers! I know Jason likes to use an icing knife. How about the rest of ya?

Screw driver. Long handle. But I'm a mechanic
-
That's funny because I use a 3/8 drive extension for a ratchet.
-
i use butter knives & flat tip screw drivers. i measure my flake & hi-lites out with the screwdrivers too lol

That's awesome. I'm sure Frank will chime in but I seem to remember he told me once he uses welding rods. Other than making baits I am a guitar player, so I can't really use a tool from my trade to stir hot plastic. Guitar strings would be a bit floppy. ;D

Glass rods for stirring chemicals

Well, you could pull a truss rod out of an old guitar neck. Might be a bit of a clumsy stirring instrument tho. I know it's OT, but what kind of music do you play and what's your most awesome guitar? 8)
I use a couple of spoons for stirring at the moment. I've used bamboo kabab skewers and those work well, they just got put in storage while cleaning up the house. Welding rods should work well, may have to grab a couple and give it a try.

Butter knife serves me well.

Butter knife...don't tell Rosemary.

Stainless steel spoon or butter knife.

I use the mental end of the candy temp taker thing.

I use a Stainless Spatula that's made for Rod Building Epoxy. I got both of mine from AcidRod.com. I buy from AcidRod whenever possible, and stay away from most other retailers of Rod Building Components. AcidRod does business right. My spatulas fit in the hand well, they're stiff, fairly fine-tipped, and machined so they're not sharp anywhere so they don't scratch...and about $3 each. I also have, from AcidRod, a Marbling Tool that's made for Marbling Pigment and Work. Pointed tip on one end, small Rounded tip on the other end. Very nice little tool, also $3.

Stainless welding rods folded over to make a loop.

Yes, off topic but I cant help but answer, and I'll be real quick! (and if I ever need to hand mix about 20 gallons of plastic in a tall thin container I just may try the truss rod idea jsut to say I did it. :D) I have played literally all types of music (some different types before I chose to walk with the Lord-we wont get into that. :-X) but if I had to pick a favorite I would have to say a toss up between southern rock and good ole blues. My most awesome guitar currently is an acoustic electric made by a small little company in Praiseland, CA called "Vineyard". Their guitars are sadly now made elsewhere and imported under their name but this one was well before they chose that route. It's about 25 years old and it just keeps on getting better and better.
To everyone else- thanks for the stirring instrument answers! As always, I LOVE the diversity around here!

Ya know, I think all you musical types and artistic types should be posting your talents on Youtube. That way all of us unmusical types and unartistic types can either make fun of you or give you the accolades you so richly deserve. Just a thought.

Ask and ye' shall receive. Have a listen here, keep in mind these are amatuer recordings and fairly rough. www.bonelessvodka.blogsp ot.com I recommend using google chrome, as for me IE doesn't show the track icons in the playlist. Haven't checked other browsers. Tracks 1, 10, and 11 are good places to start. ;)

Now you set the bar. I am going to have to find some time and record and upload some stuff. Nice tunes by the way! I enjoyed "Turn To Dust" very much.
