Title: Laminate plates
Post by: 412BaitCo on 08/13/12 20:53 UTC
When I'm shooting laminates with the 4" wutzit it seems like a decent percentage of the top color is dimpling or sucking in after I add the second? Any ideas?

I don't have any of CCM laminate plates but made a few of my own before they were manufacturered. There should be very little really.

Can you show us a picture of the final bait?

I can when I get home from work. I'm thinking it has something to do with the temperature of the second color being injected. Maybe 350 is to high to hit the already cool top with.

When you inject the second color, do you keep pressure on the injector for a few seconds before topping off the sprue?  I was having the same issue and was told that if you keep pressure on the injector then the plastic will not dimple as it cools.  Solved my problem.

I'm going to try that. I use to but from shooting multiple molds I got away from it.
