color not there yet. took a few drops of white, added a bit of pumpkin pepper...and a small bit of black. Any ideas?? would glitter help?? I know some said add pearl, but would that make it dirty? I'm looking for a dirty white shrimp..even a bit transparent.maybe cloudy.
also sand color...know it involves copper/gold/black glitter...but what colors would u suggest w/that?? thanks
-
If You like the color I posted the pic of, hit me up. That "sandy" color has 4 different colors in it.
-
Add salt to dirty it up...

May sound silly, but you could add a little dirt. Just make sure it's dry and fine.

For that matter, get some. 0015 black or gold flake..

BNJ, thanks for the recipe(s) I'm on it...and for the call!!!

Sure dirt. A lot of pigments are based off organic / inert materials. It shouldn't be any worse than salt. I haven't tried it, sounded like a good idea, and you could share the results. ;D

It's hard to picture what your looking for without a sample to look at but here is an idea...
Add a drop of Pumpkinseed to your white.
You would have to be making at least 8oz's if your using the X2, that stuff is SUPER potent.
Just a thought.

pumpkin seed is a good place to start.
X2 is potent...heck, I even tan with it, mix a little worm oil, pumpkin seed and brown (for darker tan)...and use the heat stabiliz er when it get over 97, 98 degrees!!! 8)

Dirt WILL have moisture... Beware of popping and splattering of hot plastic. May want to sift is as well prior to heating in mic. Might have metal or objects not proper for microwave.

thanks Jason/Jim...gonna sift and re-sift. I believe it's valid
and i have just discovered true "beagle puke"..my wife looked at the color in the bowl and said"it looks like puke!!
a truley wicked color!! have no idea how i got it!!
"there was a farmer who had a dog and bingo was his name!!!..."
-
Make mess yet??? LOL!!! Dirt in hot plastic had me worried all night last night.
Will do some "sand" color and take pics to see if that helps..

going to try sand as well as sifted dirt...big thunderstorm right now, but in Fl. sun will be shining in 30 ninutes

There are a few reasons I haven't went to the X2... Mainly, I'd have to rethink/rework all my recipes. Many have ONE DROP of a color added, and I have no way of splitting a drop into halves, surely not consistently, batch to batch. If it was "hard and fast fact" that X2 was 2-times standard, I could just use twice as much plastic to get the same ratio, but from recent posts, it doesn't seem like it's flat-out double-strength. While X2 is truly killer, standard colorant per-drop is less color, so each drop means less color change, which, to me, means precision, especially in smaller mixes. Considering what I see in people (myself included), most fisherman don't want to settle for "close" to a color, they (we) seem to want THAT color that they caught on. This is just my thinking and reasoning, and why I truly hope Jason-and-Family continue to carry the non-X2 colorant. I don't really want to have to buy from anyone but my Bro...I'm not sure if "the other guys" are God's Children.

Good post, Gary.

Gary, you posted " I don't really want to have to buy from anyone but my Bro...I'm not sure if "the other guys" are God's Children"...(and I know I am risking a lecture posting this)..but here goes (and Gary, I know you are a great guy!!)
Truth is, we go to big box stores, large and small retailers, most every day and buy from unsaved liars, thieves, adulterers..et al. I don't buy from the others b/c Jason does an excellent job in most everything he does, sells...and He is just better at it!!! Not so sure we need to avoid the other guys b/c they aren't "God's children"...Jesus went out dining with some shady characters of His day. Hard to be salt and light w/o contact with the other guys. I've bought from all of them...just seems I always buy from Caney now.

Pat,
You may want to read the welcome post under the " General" board. It provides some helpful guidelines. This isn't a political board or one where we disparage others.
Thanks,
Jason

I'm not sure if "the other guys" are God's Children.
Most are not but I've had the opportunity to witness to some. Jason gets most of my business and all my machine work for new ideas. He's a brother in Christ and I also think his work is the best.
Recently I had another shop drop the ball on an order. Being led by the Holy Spirit I was able to forgive, show grace and tell them Jesus says to forgive as I have been forgiven. I then said that I have been forgiven for an awful lot. Brother, you should have heard the response, I could hear the smile through the phone. Awesome moment that the Lord will use in a big way, in His time.
Anyway, just a thought that came to mind when I read your post.
Sorry to Hi-Jack...back to "dirty white" baits =)

I totally agree with all those posts. I, too, use 'most any opportunity to be a witness, give my testimony, carry a little Good News, bring Him Glory. I love it. I should have been a bit more explanatory...but I punched out the last post in a bit of haste...I've been thinking about my last post since I posted it...but haven't been able to edit it, we've been a good ways offshore. What my last sentence should read, to convey my intended meaning, would be, "As a side note, I'm not sure if the other guys are Gods Children". I have also bought from MANY other retailers for so many things, and have hit many'a key in typing text, proclaiming God's Existence (evidence and His Glory is the Fuel) to companies' employees, and even "big wigs"...Larry Potterfield is one of them. CCM is Quality, and I'm all about quality-over-quantity. Being His People, is the icing on the cake. Nearly everything I do is amongst the unsaved...it is the sick who need to see the Doctor. Many times, it can be testing, but my Dad's got my hand.

And thank You, Mr. Denny! As another side note, my PM Inbox is always open, Bro's! If things are right, or about right, I prefer doing business with His people for a few reasons...if they're tithing, the stronger their income, the stronger the tithe...and better income may serve other purposes in their lives, whether their own or their Service. For instance, I "recently" bought 2 spools of AbrazX, 20 lb. and 8 lb., off of eBay. While many listings were available, I bought from "bassnforChrist"...he's wide-open about the King. If he tithes, that's another pinch in the Storehouse. C'mawn back, Dirty White!
