We all have the favorite rod, mine has caught me1000's of crappie and still feels great but the cork handle was falling apart and looking rough. It was sad seeing her like that so I am in the process of fixing her up propper. I so far have added a split handle for better bite detection as the rodblank goes right across the palm of my hand now, much better than cork. Fixed her up with some bright colors to match the baits.lol I still havea lot of work to do on it but the handle is about dont. here it is still on the turner while it drys

That's... ummmm... brite. :D Show up at a tourney with that... might get a few chuckles until you OWN THEM ALL!!!!
Can't wait to see the finished product.
I need to buy a new rod next year. I broke the tip off my St. Croix this year... twice. Can't say I've ever broken a rod before this year. Worn some out, yes. Wrecked guides, yes. Snapped one??? Nope. Anyone else have problems with St. Croix rods being brittle or something? I have other rods that have been through the same situation (which I won't go into here ;) ) without breaking.

That is awesome, Keith. As soon as I opened this thread, the Grateful Dead began playing somewhere in the background. Awesome looking rod.

Thanks everyone, After having half my rods stolen earlier this year there will be no doubt that these are mine. I plan on signing each one by dipping by finger in some pearl and leaving a print on it. lol
