Ok, I ordered purple Holo glitter.....and......hea ted my plastic....added glitter, time the glitter hit the plastic...poof the pretty shine was gone. The green holo and blue holo both took the heat and was still sparkley after a couple reheats....
Is it a girl thing or anyone got suggestions on where my sparkle went..
IF IT AIN'T PRETTY, DON'T FISH WITH IT.........

Welcome to the site, Buffy "the fish slayer". (saw you on another site ;) ). Maybe we can see some pretty baits soon.
I have had bad luck with ALL purple glitters.

Didn't LC come out with a purple glitter that could take the heat?
-
I bought some Lurecraft purple last year. It bled and tuned my black worms blurple with brown flake. :( It held it's color for a few minutes but, not long enough to make any decent quantity of baits. I'm done with the color at least for now. Black&blue and plain black work just fine. Welcome aboard Buffy.

Buffy what brand of glitter are you using CCM, LC, ___?
-
My experience is to let the plastic cool off to whatever you can comfortably inject and then add glitter, and shoot a much as you can before it cools too much. Safely of course. When you reheat use shorter cooking times in the microwave.

I use the CCM purple holo and some other kind of purple, I have never had it bleed or turn colors or anything. Even after I have reheated it a few times.

Here's the new purple I tried. So far so good. Didn't curl or bleed. Shows nice in this light smoke.

Using Caney Creek glitter. Never had the color to disappear so quickly. And boy was I upset, threw some-what of a hissy-fit. Oh, well I'll try again. Hopefully in the next couple weeks I will be able to post some pics of my pretty creations. Guys I really appreciate all the advise. I am so addicted to learning and shooting.

The only way I can get purple glitter to work for me is to allow small batches (2 oz or so) to cool to 320...or even less.... depending on the mold....and add the glitter and inject. You need that digital thermometer I keep ranting about to make sure your plastic is not too hot! Make sure you stir your plastic so you don't have a hot spot! Microwaves are really bad about that.
I don't even try to worry about getting a second shot from that batch....I just pile up my scraps to be used later in swim worms (which I use as trailers on swim jigs and spinner baits) or Baby Berry's which I use as slop baits for bass and Northern Pike during the summer. I re-color my scraps either watermelon brn/red flake or black/blue flake ....with whatever mixed in!

Hey Buffy! Welcome to site. I have been using lurecraft black grape glitter, its a very nice purple, and handles heat really well even through reheats. I think that they discontinued regular purple due to problems with bleeding. I also use CCM Light Purple and I havent had any problems.
