Watch carefully on a lot of the fishing shows....there's a Hero on the net shaft ....or stuck on the side of the boat....or on a small tripod mounted in the track system....That tells you how good the picture must be!

yep, but the industry doesn't have a lot of options..unless you go way up in price. I lke CNET's reviews (and customer reviews), about as unbiased as you'll find. i just got a new smart phone today...drive u nuts sorting thru all the different aspects of electonic devices!!!

I have an old Kodak Zi8 that works well.
Here is the first vid I made with it on my homemade "hat cam". (1/4-20 bolt screwed to the brim)
I didnt know how much memory it would use so filmed in 480p. It did not use that much and batterey died after about 2 hours.
It has a 720p 60 fps HD mode which would have been alot better.

I own a Hero 2 and absolutely love it. I havent read the review, but I can tell you you will always have people who don't like something about something. I've done many videos and none of mine have been bad. My battery runs for about two hours then I have to change it to a fresh one. If you use attachments like the clip on screen then yes your battery goes quickly. For software I have founf that you cant beat windows 7 with it. I guess I was lucky with mine!
Check it out, standard operation with it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IjDZR4J5ud8 + Fishing

lots of people really like it. I do trust CNET reviews, individual reviews often are all over the board...but when I see a lot saying the same thing, I take note.
Still looking at the GOPro Hero2.....
