I want to make a swim shad look alot like a green sunfish, does anyone have any ideas how I can make the black dot on their gill plate? And if anybody makes a similar color, would you be willing to share your color recipe?
Thanks

Spike-It has two paints. One comes in a fingernail polish type paint on and the other is typically applied via airbrush. The airbrush paint contains a lot of voc's and it typically suggested for professional or serious users only. Spike-It also has the marker style; but should be applied just before fishing as it bleeds pretty badly over time.

Spike it has a solvent based one you can use with a tooth pick. Just dip it and dot it. They just added a dotting line which has higher pigment content. Should work really well. Frank

I use the T-shirt paint from WalMart. It's easy to make a dot...for eyes...or pupils ...or I suppose, a dot on the gill. It's called Puffy Paint.

That's what I use to make eyes on most of my baits...
You'll need to dip it along with your eyes.

Lurecraft carries a really good paint for soft plastic baits. It bonds really well to baits.

Here is the bait without eyes so far. I still need to adjust it a bit, but I think its a good start.
