Where is everyone buying stuff to make rubber skirts?  I want to tie some like my grandpa did when I was a kid. 

Denny uses it too.  I one of his jigs from the last swap.

Hey Justin,

I love Tackle Warehouse, but I wouldn't buy my rubber from them...way too expensive. They carry the Rainy brand. Rainy has been a good company for years in the fly fishing / fly tying industry. She has a good following and makes a good product...dry flies, foam bodies, rubber legs, etc.  But look at the price...$2.50 +\- for 10 " of rubber.  You will only get two, maybe three jigs out of the package.

I'll be the first to admit that I have a "personal problem" when it comes to buying fishing stuff.  (Ask Jason.  He knows.). I usually buy my rubber in one pound quantities for about $23 +/- a pound.  You can also buy in lesser volume for higher cost.

I suggest you google "round rubber jigs".  I did and came up with about 10 pages of hits.  I have bought from both Barlows and Living Rubber with good results.  I'd pay particular attention to colors carried, sizes carried, and price.

 I get my round rubber from my flyting factory from either Janns or Lurecraft.
Price are good

I've never bought rubber material, I just saw that TW had it. Didn't know the pricing. Sorry about that.

I found what I was looking for at barlows.  And not to bad of price either. Thanks guys. Now I have to learn to tie with wire too.

I think I use 28 gauge wire and I don't have any available right now to check.  Cut the wire into 2 or 3 inch lengths and make a loose bend in the middle.  Place middle of the rubber over the stem of the jig and place bent wire over the rubber.  Make two wraps with the wire and twist the wire around itself.  Use needle nose pliers to tighten the wire and cut off the excess.  Trim the rubber and walaa.  Oh yeah, use a fly tying vise to hold the hook.

Thanks Denny.  Sounds easy.  I have watch my grandpa use thread for years until the rubber bands came out. But I have a lot of guys asking for tied jigs. So thought I would jump in with both feet. 
And you jigs inspired me to use wire. And go back old school and use the rubber skirts some.
