Just had an idea of a d/s sinker. Why not tie on a metal washer?
Another one I used this year - a worm or cylinder sinker with the line tied to a cheapo swivel to keep it from coming off or you could peg it with a tooth pick depending on leader length to hook.

you would greatly increase your loss rate for your rig, the whole idea of the current designs are to break away in the event of a snag.

i love to drop shot,i use a heavier split shot and just pinch it down with pliers,it's what gets hung up mostly so a good pull and you get everything back except the sinker,i mean you have to pinch it down good though.

I do the same. This method allows you to easily add or remove whatever size bullet sinker you need above the splitshot as well. Splitshots also don't cut the line and thus shorten the leader when they hang up like the dropshot sinkers do. They simply slip off leaving the rest of the rig the same as it was.
