30 MPH winds and temps in the teens left us in the shacks most of the day. Ford's are a good windbreak!

CRAZY!

Call me when those fish are cleaned, cooked and ready to eat.

Nice catch. I am not sure I could step out of my truck and drill a hole in the ice. What is the orange; handle looking thing; hanging around your neck?
Looks like a tent city in one of the pictures; and; it was 3 miles out on the ice?

Orange handles are ice picks in case a guy goes through. There are spikes on the end that meet. Not much of a chance of falling through on 18-20" of ice but I wear them nonetheless. That lake is a big basin with mudflats. The fish move up on the flats to feed on the structure. The houses are lined up on the structure. Hence that flat's name "Three mile Flat."

Nobody but... NOBODY, wants to lose "My Kyle"...
If you're planning to venture out on the ice I would suggest you wear some picks on YOUR lanyard too. (even if the ice is nearly 2 ft. thick)... :P

Maybe someday Matt......I have used the LX-5 and prefer my VX-1 for simplicity. A lot of the fishing around here is farm ponds so a guy doesn't need many bells and whistles but I do find the LX-5 and newer models beneficial when fishing larger deeper bodies of water in Minnesota (trips I take once or twice a year).
