Title: resin molds
Post by: Bass Snax Custom Baits on 02/07/13 16:16 UTC
Is it possible to inject in resin molds, if so, what are the steps in making these type of molds?

I've made pop molds that I inject but you have to be very careful and not use too much pressure when injecting.

takes a lot of practice, trial and error. do some searches around the tackle making forums (TU specifically has a ton of guides). i have tons of injection pop molds, possibilities are endless.

downfalls are they break easily, whether you drop it, inject too much pressure, or clamp it wrong. also they are cheap to make but you're gunna use a lot of pop before you get real skilled at it.

Bottom line is yes resin molds are easily injected, as far as the process its the same as if you were making a two piece hand pour mold. As far as PoP well safety is a concern so taking your time and applying low pressure is a sure bet.

Yes you can make an injection mold from resin. It takes a little while to make a get right but it can be done. First you have to find what you want to use I prefer the fiberglass resin I can get at walmart. Here is a link to show the process I use or very similar to it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZmdMFGwK8KE. I use self adhesive laminating roll with sticky side up to hold my baits down. And use a dremel tool to make my air vent.
