I always use .015 except when I'm making green pumpkin or other colors that require large black glitter. That's the only color I have in the .040. There have been times when the .008 would have been nice though. But so far those times have been few and far between. I'd like to have every color in every size, but that isn't very practical for me. It's all personal preference.

I am shooting crappie baits and for the plain old shooting all I use is the .015 glitters. If I want to boot up the glitz a bit I use string glitter...got 6 colors of it for just that purpose. The string glitter is handy to have around and might benefit you too.

I use the .015 most of the time, but mixing in some .008 can give it a cool look too.

I mostly use .040 for bass fishing but I have the .015 as well to stack with to show dimension in my baits

.04 for my black....smaller for my colors. I really like a little bit of black string glitter in my baits.

I also make up a "rainbow glitter mix" from red/green/silver/blue/black in the small size for when I'm feeling really indecisive!

And a "electric snot" mix of small  yellow/green  to mix into my chartreuse for my smallmouth carrot baits. Sometime when I'm feeling "extra snotty" I'll add a little red flake to the yellow/green mix.

Make sure you bring extra Kleenex if you fish with Andy.

Sleeves work good when you're fishin. Us northern boys know all about things like this.

On that topic, I'm going to have Ma sew up a terry cloth wrap that fastens with velcro that can be wrapped around one's forearm to serve as a snot wipe. When it gets loaded in one spot just give it a twist to get a fresh portion of wipe where you need it. Take it off and wash it, save the sleeves for something else.

Andrew....you mention multi-color glitter mixes. I use several blends too. When do you feel that too much glitter is , or has been, added? I mixed up a clear bluegill once using all .015 glitters in copper, blue, green and purple.... just a little pile on the end of a popsickle stick in a 6 ounce batch....and thought it was too much. I thought maybe the color conflict overwhelmed things a bit. Any thoughts on this?

I use .040 most of the time.

.015 is good in translucent baits.

It's nice to get a laugh in before going too work.  I use .015 and mostly transparent colors. I don't do too many multi-color  mix bait's. One is black ,lime, copper. mike

Mixing different sizes of the same glitter will spice up a lure as well.  Putting some .015 in with your .040 will often fill in areas without overpowering the plastic color.

I only have 3 glitters at the moment, and they're 3 I consider absolutely necessary.  .015 silver holo, .040 black, .040 fire red.  I think .015 fire red would be a must as well, it's next on the list along with Blue, Green, Purple, and Gold in both .015 and .040.  I'd like to pick up some .008 glitters in different colors as well at some point.  I've used some very small glitters I bought at Target, and they added a very subtle dimension to the baits.  Problem is some of them bleed and none of them handle high heat for very long.
