I use Spinnerbaits. I think I've caught more Bass on SB's than any other style of lure. I've modified my Do-It Walleye Head mold to take a wire to make SB's from that head.
Sittin' here in the wheelhouse, now in Fourchon, LA, a thought hit me for a Spinnerbait mold. How 'bout a spinnerbait with a Scrounger-style Lip, but have the lip below the head instead of above? This would surely increase vibration and wobble, but also may help with deflecting off of snags.
Fire away...

That sounds like a crazy amount of action for a single lure. But I can't say it won't work without trying it! I'm not a bass and last time i checked the fish don't regular this forum. So, if you feel it would work what's stopping you?
-
LoL! What's stopping me is Jason forgot to drop off the CNC machine on his way North. Like I said, it's probably gross overkill, but if Rattle Traps catch, the SB in this thread would surely work, maybe excel in dirty water.

Very true about the rattle traps. To quote the big lebowski and apparently Theodor Herzl (state of Israel) "if you will it, it is no dream"

I always make my spinnerbaits with piano wire except for my heave muskie and pike ones. The piano wire will give you a lot more vibration.

Roger on'nat, Fella's. I'm more than content with what I'm making/using...just tossing around some ideas. Most of what I'm about to be making, I'll be using Camo Brown Stainless Wire. It's not as bright and noticeable as straight stainless, and a blade vibrating that wire (as with any SB) will make the wire that much harder to see. Brown forms and Black Nickle hooks address the hardware's detectability, about as good as can be expected with a Spinnerbait.

It's that "Scrounger -style lip" that I think could be the hard part. I'm not sure where you could get those. Are they for sale anywhere?
-
I've never seen the Lips for sale, anywhere. Exactly that aspect, is why I mentioned using about the same material but modifying the shape and using that on a Do-It head design...modify the shape and likely avoid infringement...in hopes to plant a lucrative-for-Do-It seed, and let Yawl Innovators do Yawl's thing.
I'm just doing some thinking and bringing this-n-that to the table...I think it could be nutritious.
Maybe locate a manufacturer of similar parts and/or materials and get a quote. All it would likely really take is a Die or a few Dies that the maker would use to punch them out. BAM...custom Lips...Do-It Bass Botox.

Certainly something to think about... great ideas start somewhere right?
