DAMN !!!! Jerry those pearls look awfully fishy !.... That green and that purple are going on my list first
-
yes, Beautiful back colors and that copper would look wicked on a crawfish!
-
I never thought of that one Gary !!! It sure would !
-
Was the add rate of the hi-lites in the black colored plastic the same as the clear?
-
That purple will be the answer for matching those Emerald Shiners on the Mississippi !
-
HiLite powders in ALL those colors are in my sights. Hopefully Yawl offer it in 1 oz. jars. Been pondering and planning HiLites.
And Mr. Jerry, I do want to pass-on to You that pictures of the inside of Do-It molds, just 1 of the mold-halves, would help!
-
can we pre-order lol
-
Better yet, how about a special ,five pak for the introduction? :D :D
-
I'm with Gary. Five pack.

Yes... those baits were shot with clear then color added then shot again.

I think they are working now on pictures of castings and molds alike for the next catalog. I'm hoping that we can get it done in time for the next issue as there's only a few hundred designs to work into the mix.
Thanks,
Jerry

Roger dat! I understand completely. And X3-4 on the 5-pack! I'll take 1 of each color.
-
It IS some pretty fun stuff to play with and as usual, the pictures never do it justice. It's some pretty powerful stuff and will add a whole new dimension to the colors you already work with.
I for one am pretty excited to be able to add it to my color arsenal and I'm sure the rest of you will appreciate it as well.
Thanks,
Jerry

Thanks Jerry V. I would not have thought that the hi-lites would influence black that much. I Also would not have thought to add high-lites to true black either.
-
I'm all in in a combo pack
-
Awww yes the multi pack forum member discount. Great idea Jerry ;D
-
lol..... Jerry you have your hands full... I agree with the above, that if you offered the new stuff in a multi pack I would more willing to buy, same with the colors...... Look at what is not selling in the shop and offer it up in a package deal of 6 colors with maybe 10% off.. I think your shelves would stay rotated, just my 2 cents....

Colorant is needed for highlights to really look poppin'. Also remember, hi-lite poweder will stiffen up your bait a good bit. Will make soft plastic medium if you add a decent amount....

Another vote for the 5 pack. And the above is a great idea assuming you have colorants that aren't moving very fast. Would get some of us to try colors we obviously don't have. :)
-
I'm in on the 5 pack also. I'll end up buying them all anyway!
It would be nice if the packaging tray would hold all bottles together and act as an organizer on my shelf.

Any chance these are coming soon, Jerry? I need to order more plastic soon. Would be cool if I could add them to the arsenal.
-
I just tried a few of the sample highlights...all I can say is....ohhhhhhhhhh I like it ! ;D
Very subtle hit of color...kind of a "shine" like the pearl powder ...but with a color. (I guess that's why they are called highlights! :o )

I know this is adding to an older post but can this powder be used with clear powder paint for jig heads???

That's a good question. I'm not real sure, but it was formulated and intended as an plastic additive. I would think the manufacturer would likely have the best answer for you.

I mix hi lites in transparent colors of powder paint. No problem at all. It creates an opaque color though much like a soft pearl. Hang on and I'll post a pic of one color.
-
Here's a picture of the transparent raspberry on a couple smaller Do-It heads.

The ballhead has only a bit of fuscia glitter in it. The teardrop has a rose hi lite as well as the glitter. The light is poor today with clouds but if you look carefully around the eye pocket on the teardrop you can see how the hi lite creates sort of an inner reflective quality to the finish.
I haven't done any hi lites in a clear powder paint so I can't speak as to what the outcome would be but I think it would tend to create a colored fog over the color you coat since its applied over the color and not in it where we normally see hi lite.
-
Been mixing it for a while just like pearl. Contrasting colors give the best effect.
-
I've done some dinking with black and a couple other really dark colors using the hi lite and some of these look like they are from another planet altogether. I believe RonDon posted some pictures once that looked unreal...maybe talk him into posting a couple here to show the effects, eh.
