Very nice like that wire keeper good to see it on some new designs!
-
I love them all! Those first two will be great for all us guys that make plastic and the football ear mold is the most popular jig head right now; thanks to Biffle and his Biffle Bug. :D
-
So how is the hook set on the football jig there? I like the looks of those but never fished one.
-
The same as you would set the hook on any other jig. The football ear jig let's the bait wobble and fall any such way. Really great to fish with a crawfish trailer.
-
Looks like I'll have to have one of those. Looks like it fits my style.
-
Jerry....
What are the size options and mold formats be for the first pic shown?
-
Mr. Tom,
I can answer that much better when I get to the office in the morning but it's an assorted mold and I believe it starts at 1/48 oz... I'll try to get the specs posted up tomorrow when I get in.
Thanks,
Jerry
-
Thanks Jerry.
-
Put me down for the first four, please. Each of those molds is going to be a top seller.
-
Oooooooh! I will for sure be buying the football ear jig mold. Thanks Jerry!
-
You guys are going to make me want to go out and start making jig heads now.. If start this the wife is going to be very >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( with me. Heck I will just order from you guys if its that ok.. looking forward to those top two for trout season if they come in 1/32.
-
Oddly; We had a day of cooler weather here and I spent a good deal of the day casting lead yesterday. Looks like I will need to get some more lead :D. Good looking molds. The football / ear jig mold will be a must. Recessed eye, flat bottom, football, with a worm hook connection are all there. Jerry; what weights will the the football / ear jig mold cavities be?
-
Jerry....

The Minnow Head Jig with Wire Keeper:
6 cavities: 1 each size 1/48 - 1/32 - 1/16 - 1/8 - 3/16 - 1/4 oz.
-
Any plans to do an all 1/48 or an all 1/32...1/16?
-
Jerry what hook goes in the third one down and what size on the football ear jig
-
I printed off a pic of the top pic yesterday and showed it to a couple people including a baitshop owner. I'll tell you right up front that having small heads with that wire keeper is a solid move in a positive direction as far as these people were concerned. The biggest gripe I have had to deal with over the years has been and always was the cast-on barb or ball keepers. They split cold plastic like crazy and were a bane to cold water/weather anglers.
I can't speak on behalf of the bass guys here but that first jig is going to be a winner.
-
Jerry what hook goes in the third one down and what size on the football ear jig
Mustad 32786 goes in the Weedless Football mold.
The Swinging Football mold will be 6 cavities: 1 each size 1/8 - 3/16 - 1/4 - 5/16 - 3/8 - 7/16 oz.
-
Thanks Jerry; I am glad to see the smaller weight steps in the mold. I would rather have them than a 1/2 and 3/4, and no 3, 5, or 7/16th.
-
I like the second one. Whats it called?

Shad Head Jig with Wire Keeper: 6 cavities: 1 each size 1/8 - 3/16 - 1/4 - 5/16 - 3/8 - 7/16
-
Thanks Jerry. I'm going to need me one of those football ear jig. When they are ready.
-
The new molds will likely be rolling out of the foundry a little prior to the actual catalog mailing. You all here at the forum will be the first to know when they are indeed ready to ship.
Thanks,
Jerry
-
Awesome I cant wait!!!! The wire keeper is the only way to go! Is it a bad thing when I already know how I'm going to ,modify the second one :P
-
Is the last mold going to be hook specific?
-
Is the last mold going to be hook specific?
No, it will not be hook specific. You will be able to use virtually any hook with that mold.
-
great - just when I gte told to 'pace myself' -
I'll be buying atleast 2 of those 4 - probably 3 of them. That should put me right @ 50 lead molds.
Fortunately, my wife likes fishing as much as I do - so that makes these things easier.
-
thats an awesome lineup of new molds. I can see 3 in my future. Thanks for sharing
-
:)Football is great. It is very necessary to me. I am ready to pay the reservation. :)

Here's a sneak peak of some new Do-It Molds we showed at ICAST and will be available with the release of the new Do-It Catalog coming out in October.
(http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll161/YankeesWineight/WeedlessFootball.jpg) (http://s288.photobucket.com/user/YankeesWineight/media/WeedlessFootball.jpg.html)
Jerry, what weights will this be available in and will it be for light or heavy wire hooks?
-
As I recall it's designed around the Mustad 32786 hook which is a heavier hook. I don't recall all the sizes in it but you can be sure that 1/4, 3/8, 1/2 are in there. I'll try to get you the exact specs when I get back in the office next week.
Jerry
-
When are these going to be available to us? The anticipation is killing me. :D
-
As I understand it, sometime in early October or later in September.

Thanks Tom! I cannot wait!
-
Me either. I want that football ear jig mold.
-
If I am not mistaken, the new products are slated to become available as the new catalog comes out and that is sometime in the fall. The time-frame I mentioned really keeps banging around in my head. I have heard that with the acquisition of the Caney company, the size of the catalog alone will grow over 30 pages.
-
I love the idea of putting the plastic molds in the catalog. On the lead side I have over 120 do-it molds and I keep everything marked in the catalog so I know what I have! Comes in handy when your going to garage sales and the like. Never leave home without the do-it catalog. P.S. Jerry, When you ship those new molds out; be sure to give the first shipment to Barlow's :-* :-*
-
Gary. I was hoping. We got them before anyone else!! ; ).
-
We have seen some new jig molds to be released. Ctom is saying the Caney Creek products will be in the new catalog as well. Now; the $64.00 question on my mind is will there be any new plastic injection molds in the catalog? When will any new plastic bait molds be coming out? Sneak peeks or "tattle tail" descriptions?
-
I am saying that Do-It will list their acquired plastics products in the catalog. Caney does not have any part of the new Do-It catalog. All new products or product development gets its mention on the boards here so we are always the first to know when something new is coming out.
-
Tom. Huh?
-
The new D0-It catalog will include the plastics end of things. As far as I know, the catalog is the Do-It catalog, not a Do-It-Caney Creek or Do-It/Caney creek. I also know that new products will be announced here, on this board, first, letting the members here stay a step so to speak.
-
As I recall it's designed around the Mustad 32786 hook which is a heavier hook. I don't recall all the sizes in it but you can be sure that 1/4, 3/8, 1/2 are in there. I'll try to get you the exact specs when I get back in the office next week.
Jerry
Thanks Jerry. I'm hoping they have a 1/2 - 3/4 - 1oz model like the FBB-3M-AFM (but with a straight eye hook of course)
-
MAN!!!!!! I am buying one for sure!
-
The Weedless Football Jig will be designed for Mustad 32786 hooks. The mold will be 4 cavities, 1 each size 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, and 3/4 oz. The item number will be 3501, model FWB-4M-ASU.
Thanks,
Jerry
-
What hook is going to be used for the shad head with the wire keeper mold? It looks like it may be a 60 degree either standard or light wire.
-
I'm almost sure it's the Mustad 32886, 30 degree.
Jerry
-
It's October Jerry! Do we have a release date on these molds? Thanks.
What's the name of the last one, so I can look it up?
-
Kip, I believe they named it the Football Swing.
That was the last name that I know of while the mold was still in creation. I know Do-it was trying to find the perfect wire insert for it before they would finalize the mold.
I'll give Jerry a call and see where they are on the molds and catalogue, also going to ask about the meet and greet.
Drew
-
Yes it's October.... the 3rd of October to be exact.
The new molds are due to be coming out of the foundry today or tomorrow. We should be able to start shipping some next week. I don't know when they will be available at the web site but if any forum member would like one of the new designs and your not already on my contact list from past correspondence give me a call at Do-It and I'll get an order processed for the new items. 319-984-6055

How about your home phone # Jerry? I know there are others like me who wake up at 3 or so in the morning with questions about new molds or ideas for such. ;D
I'll be the first to say that Do-It is flat out the best at putting us at the front of the line and I certainly appreciate Jerry....and Ryan.
-
Jerry's home number is easy enough to find. It's etched in many park benches right under : FOR A GOOD TIME, CALL.....
-
I don't know Denny...we're talking Iowa here. Most park benches get burned to heat homes. And for football game tailgate parties.
-
You guys had better lay off of the "Mother Land" or Jerry and I will have to come at you like twin spider monkeys! ;D

all jacked up on Mt. Dew too. (or sweet tea) Either way we're a couple of spider monkeys but TWINS????
That's funny right there. 8)

I don't know Tommy.....I think the two of you would probably get tangled up in all that trimmed line you toss down in the boat during the tournaments. That would make you a couple of monkeys for sure.
-
Spider Monkeys? So that's why you like banana baits for walleye fishing!! ;D ;D
-
I've been staring at the minnow-head mold, the first in the pictures of the new ones in the line-up, and really like that 1/48th ounce head. How many times I have wanted a head just a touch smaller than the 1/32 and this one is spot-on for size. The way that wire nestles in there without a hint of the end poking thru is pretty nifty too. Happy days ahead I can tell.

I hear you Ctom!!! The minnow head mold I have now makes a killer trout jig in the 1/48oz with a lead collar or the 1/32oz without the lead collar, depends on the patter but the keeper is going work great for small plastics!!!
-
OK lead masters... anyone making these yet? ;D
I have been eyeballing the first minnow head with the wire keeper. That would work great for me if you could make those with a longer shank hook in the 1/32 size.. I will be fishing the 2 1/4" silverfish this year for trout and i think that head will be the key for me..
Jerry,
Any plans for a "pro series"? Something with maybe 4 - 1/48oz and 4 - 1/32oz?
-
Billmo - As of this morning - 10/15 I have not seen any of the molds listed for sale from my normal mold suppliers. I am waiting for one to come on line myself.
-
8) I may have to call too! ;D

RELEASE THE HOUNDS!!!!

;D Their out the door!

I believe it was SmallJaw's thread that I replied to, when he posted the Swims and Shad Head Jigs. He did a Mighty Fine Job on those. I must say, to Do-It, after further inspection of the Shad Head Jighead and Mold, that Yawl really Did-It that time. Awesome Job.
