Title: Gorilla Tubes
Post by: CrabbyBass on 08/06/13 15:55 UTC
Hello Everyone!  Wilks19 and I are doing a swap meet at a local fishing club this Thursday.  I have a huge pile of scrap plastic lying around.  What better way to get rid of the scraps than to make a bunch of stuff with it for the swap meet.  Plus, I can play around and try different techniques.  I just hope no one wants us to replicate any of the colors.  LOL!  I wanted to see if I can do the swirling effect on the Gorilla Tubes.  I was pretty happy with the results

Thanks for looking!

Chuck

Nice, I prefer my red shad to look swirled like that.

Thank you guys!  The true test will be if the fish like them.   ;D

Oh... I think they'll like it.  Throw that one in anyone's local water and try to get it back...  I think they're gonna eat it!  nice work.

Thanks Jerry! I hope so. I have one tied on. I will let you know how I do when I go out next time. Probably going to go on a lunch time fishing trip tomorrow.   :)

how are you getting the swirling affect?

Sim, I use the BT Twinjector. What I do is, pull both colors into the twinjector. I loosen the balls on the end of the plungers.  Then I put the twinjector on the blending block and alternate pushing on each plunger until the mold is filled. I tried taking off the crossbar once, but it didn't work as well. With the plunger balls loosened it limits how much you can push down on the plungers and gives it a really nice swirling effect.

Thanks Tommy! This was about a year ago and probably the last time I did the swirls besides last night.

Awesome baits. I swirl mine by injecting as I spin in a circle. After 4 baits your dizzy as hell but they look great  :P

Thanks Mo! Do you have any pics of your swirled baits done with that method? I tried spinning the twin and blending block and it didn't turn out as well. Maybe I injected too fast. Thanks!
