Title: More fall colors popping up

These are the Super Fry that will follow me to the river this fall into the winter. These are what I shot this morning using the modified lam plate to get the belly sections and tails for the split colors.

On the left from the top down is my version of pro blue, grape/brown, pro blue over pearl and chartreuse. On the right top to bottom is the smoke, chartreuse over pearl, smoke over pearl and chartreuse tail/indigo.

My pro blue is made using the old blue pearl smoke from CC. I add one drop of regular blue and a drop of black, regular formulas, to bring it down some. This is a super cold water river color in either solid or the split color with pearl. 6 ounce batch here.

The brown/grape is an MF color and has 15 drops in 6 ounces here. A little shot of blue glitter is my idea of a great color here. This is a changable color and will switch from the purple color to an earthworm kind of brown in a heartbeat when it hits water. This is one of the best production colors I have ever used in cold water.

The pearl in all applications here is CC pearl at 40 drops in 6 ounces along with an MF color called irridescent pearl at 20 drops. In the hand in good light the MF pearl adds an almost holographic quality to the finished color. LOTS of stabilizer goes into this color aklong with 4 drops of UV enhancer.

The chartreuse is Do-It's x2 at 4 drops per 6 ounces of plastic. Again, lots of stabilizer and 4 drops of UV enhancer finish this color.

The smoke is simple. X2 black on a stick stirred into 6 ounces of plastic and just a smidge of purple hi lite gets added. I add the black in small steps until I get the smoke I want. The picture is not a good one to show the beauty of this smoke and I aplogize for the poor clarity on this color.

The Indigo is an MF color using four drops to 6 ounces but I have added 3 drops of CC regular blue to it as well. A smidge of Do-It purple hi lite is in there as well as Do-It glitters or .015, purple and garnet....dab of each.

These will be laid out for a couple days, then trimmed and laid out in the box to await the arrival of much cooler water temps....something in the 45 degree or less range.

Mike....

Go to the  "Soft Plastic Baits - How to" section and find the Lam Plate topic. I did some simple alterations to the lam plate so that it could be used on either side of the mold. There's a pic there to look at. The plate, as it arrives to you, only shoots the back side...top of the bait. I wanted bellies that were filled but clean at the break and I also wanted to be able to shoot some tails without shooting a full mold. Re-drilling the mold fixed my needs.

If you decide to do this alteration, be darned sure you align the sprue hole and work [mark your measurements] with it aligned at all times. Also, the plate appears to be short on one end of the mold half, but it is not and will toss half-baits very cleanly. Done the way I did it not a single vent was bothered nor were any cavities breached.
