Title: A BIG win......
Post by: ghostbaits on 06/13/11 09:03 UTC
Well, got word over the weekend that another angler won a nice title and my swims were a major part of his victory...

He won the BASS Southern Open.... http://www.bassmaster.com/news/ferguson-goes-wire-wire

While I do not sponsor him, I was told by those that were there that he mentioned my swimbiats on stage. Winnings were $10,000 cash ($55,000 total with all his bonuses) as well as a Nitro Z9 boat with a 225-horsepower Mercury Optimax motor. He also would have won a berth to the classic if he would have fished the other txs.

The other customer of mine that turned him on to my swims sent me this text from the stage area... "My friend won bassmasters southern division #3 beat roland martin.....go to bassmasters.com and look at southern #3 look at the photos of bobby ferguson it shows him catching fish on the swimbait and he also mentions using the swimbait.....he won $55,000 and guess what swimbait he was using? Yours!!!"

Makes me get pumped up again to get on some new colors/baits except I need to be the one out fishing instead of them!!!

Congrats Jim.  That's cool stuff knowing that those baits went through your hands.  Too bad that check isn't in your hands!!!   :P

That's great maybe you should sponsor him, pretty cool of him to mention you without being sponsored, not many guys do that anymore. Any idea how he was rigging it to fish it deep?

Yet to talk with him skeeter but you are right... Suprised he gave me the shout out with no sponsorship.

He has been tight lipped about everything he did I guess. Won't even tell his close buddies. He was fishing against a lot of full time pros trying to get into the Classic via the opens so he may never tell.

No doubt he had something good as he went wire to wire I believe.
