....according to NBC's national news tonight at 530 makes things sound as though you Suthen and Eastun [ like the accent?] boys better get your snuggles out of storage for after you finish shoveling so the in laws can get in the door on turkey day. Maybe oil up the tire chains too in case you have to retrieve the in laws.
I'm enjoying semi-brown ground color after a daytime hi of about 43 degrees. A little breezy with the wind coming from Iowa. But what's with this weather already? I think we've had enough of this weird crap this year. Why can't some of this go to the middle east? I sure as heck wouldn't miss it. I'm all for lows in the upper 30's and highs during the day around 55 degrees all winter long. No snow, just rain about once a week during the overnight where an inch of water keeps the grass nice and green without growing too much.
On a serious note....Ya'll have a safe holiday and if you travel leave early and drive defensively. It sounds like a real whiz-banger is headed to east from New York to Kentucky and maybe even lower in the states than that. Apparently its going to deliver the whole mess....rain, freezing rain, snow, wind and very cold temps. We're going to get the cold and maybe a bit of white but nothing like what they are predicting for that part of the country.

All I can say is this year's late spring and now early winter are a load of crap. :p It's been a long time since I can remember snow and 24 degrees for turkey day. 43 degrees Tom? You guys in MN have it easy for once! I've spent the last 3 days mostly outside, all below 30. I don't care that I have things to do out there today on my day off, or that it will be colder and windier tomorrow when I decide to do those things; I'm staying IN today!

North wind here today that must be coming from inside a dry ice plant. Ma and I ran some errands and parking lots were hard on my lungs....sucked the breath right outta me. Darned lung disease. If the wind quit blowing it would be half decent here today again, but we're beginning to collect some clouds. Strange year for sure. 17" of snow on May 2, 97 degrees one week later. Now this early shot of cold.

Every time I think about bowhunting this afternoon - a thirty mph gust reminds me there is work to get done! :-[

I put a rack of pork ribs on the grill a while ago for an early dinner. Carole heard a knock on the door from the garage and answered it and here were the ribs asking for a blanket.

the ice the ice can't wait :P :P :P :P ctom we should be able to get on next week up there ;D

They're already on it in places here in MN. Granted, I think they're wack jobs but they are on the ice.

Heck, I wish you northern guys would repair that strand of barbed wire that holds back the cold and quit fooling around with it. It's gonna be 22° tonight in East LA (Eastern Lower Alabama) and that's just wrong!!!!!!

If I had my way the cold would stop at the border with Canada and I could wear shorts all year long.

I'll agree with the cold stopping at the border but we may want to consult your neighbors and others around you regarding your wearing shorts AAALLLL year long Tom. :)

Blackhawk is right. 20 degrees in Alabama is cruel and unusual punishment for us. And it is windy to top it off. I don't winterize my boat because I use it all winter ( weather permitting ) so I'll have to work the trim and tilt a time or two to make sure there's no water there.

The only consulting I have with the neighbors is whether they want to pick up their dog's crap on their own or if I need to call the health dept. I don't know why everyone on this street owns a dog and refuses to clean up after them.

Better cover any tender plants too.
