Merry Christmas everyone!! I wanted you here to be the first to see these, they are a present for my fishing partner made with a present from my sister. These are 3/8oz bladed swim jigs made with the Trokar Pro Swim Jig Mold, I used a single size #3 Worth stainless steel split ring to attach the blade. The top one is my "green gill" color while the bottom I call "shell cracker", and I also use slightly oversized 3D eyes because I liked the way they looked when I was dry fitting them to get just the right look with the colors. I hope you like them but I'm also open to getting some critique as well, it makes me find the mistakes I don't see at first so I can make a better bait on the next round.

Great stuff there. I don't know about color coordinating what's underneath with what's atop. Kinda like having socks and underwear matching....lol.
Seriously though, stepping up the bar is a great thing to take on and using those blades ahead of the jig works well. I have some small plastic discs that fit on the line ahead of a small jig to make the retrieve a real dance in the water and from the sonic aspect they really get attention. It works. The red ring around that eye is a real "eye opener". Good stuff here smalljaw.

Very nice looking jigs and trailer combos. Great color coordination.
I hope you have better luck than I have had with stainless split rings. I have not found one that will return to original after being opened much. For that reason I gave up on them several years ago and now I use only German spring steel split rings and a few ovals.

I like them. I make a similar chatter bait with a 5/8 oz jig and a swim bait. The heavy weight seems to keep it from rolling when fished fast. I also don't use the weed guards. No real reason for them and I was missing a few fish.

Problem using split rings is the blade wont click into the head. Or will it?

Hey SJ,
What can you tell me about plastics riding on the back? Not so much about color, but wondering what mold they are a product of... I like the way the tail is shaped and I'm betting it has excellent vibration.

Thanks for the kind words all, I do appreciate it. The split rings I use are Worth, I open them and put the blade on and then put them on the jig and they don't stay open but these are good quality and cost a little more than regular split rings. As for the blade hitting the head, yes, they do, but not as hard so the sound is subtle, the real nice thing about using the ring versus directly attached is you get an exaggerated movement. I made and used them with the blade attached directly by opening up the hook eye and then closing it, this makes more noise but it moves fairly straight, the blade attached by split ring makes for less noise but a lot of side to side movement, that is what I like.

Muskygary, the top one is a 2 color pattern, it has steel blue on the bottom and a mix of watermelon and brown for the top color. The steel blue in an industrial color, think battleship gray with a blue hue, all I do to it is add super gloss clear with a little white to lighten it up and that is what you get. The surprising thing about that color is it is the only color that looks the same in person as it does in a picture, go figure.

Indeed. Both head colors are nice. You've done a great job of bring the colors together all the way thru the bait's making. I like that kind of forward thought.
