I appears that almost everyone uses either -
1. Pyrex in the microwave - maybe on a griddle after to hold at temp.
2. A presto pot for volume production.
3. Some method unknown to me? If so -- Please enlighten me.
Does anyone use the Lee Precision plastic pots instead of a presto pot?
I used lee pots for lead casting for 25 years or so ( now use RCBS ),
their pots dripped; but they otherwise were good. It does seem that cleaning one out would be a pill around the pouring stems when you changed colors and stirring would also be clumsy.
I assume you can get the "just melting pot" ( no pouring spout ) and heat and hold plastic at temperature like the Presto pot; but in a smaller vessel ( one quart vs four ).
Part Two -
Does the presto pot temperature hold close to the temp on the dial?
Does the presto pot have a tendency to scorch with smaller amounts of plastic?
Or; to put it another way; What is the secret "magic" way to heat and hold your plastic at the correct temperature?

I have had someLee pots in the past. They were very hit or miss for temp. One might be close, other might be off 25-30 degrees.
Lots of mods were needed tp the posts, especially if your molds were tall. The molds would not fit under the spout...
I do know another person that heats with a series of light bulbs.
