Can you do core shots with molds that inject from the side?

Not as well but the bass won't care.

 don't know about anybody else but core shot I do the following  by using a laminate plate  after I shoot I pulled  the mold part and take half of the bodies off  take a small   toothpick take a drop of red and put it on the half of the body close  mold  backup and shoot again to get your core shot.

Will the color actually mix in with the plastic that way? I figured it would kinda be like a gooey inside
