Do any other hooks work with this mold? Other than the Trokars?

Mustad 32796, not the 32798, the difference is the wire diameter, the 32796 is heavier like a flipping style hook. Also the new Eagle Claw Black Platinum 2706, those are pretty much a mirror image of the Mustad 32796. I have that mold and I have used the Trokar, the Mustad and I just tried the Eagle Claw and they all fit that mold. If you look under the bass jig section you will find pictures of a new bladed swim jig I made using that mold, but it is also great without the blade, I really like it.

The orientation of the hook eye is one of the reason I am interested. I throw the bladed jig a lot in the spring, summer and fall. I can make it work on the poison tail but you have to add a second split ring. Thanks for the heads up on the alternate hooks. Those trokars are expensive

I am just wondering, I want a light wire hook as well as a hook turned vertically, would I be able to modify this mold to fit a 32886BLN or 32724BLN and still be able to use trokars if i wanted to?

I doubt that it could be done because the 32886 is a 30 degree hook, maybe the 32786 but the eye is large and you might not be able to make it fit without entering the cavity. If you want to use a lighter hook look no further than the 32798, it is the sister to the 32796 but it is a standard wire hook compared to the heavy wire hook it takes. The 32798 isn't a light wire hook but it is light enough to get a good hook set using 6lb line, I make a 1/8oz weedless round head with the 32798 in a 2/0 and I have no problem fishing that jig on 6lb line, if fact I rarely lose a fish hooked on it.If you want a good swim jig with the vertical eye hook then grab the casting jig mold, I use it in the smaller sizes and let me tell you, the 32886 in a 3/0 in a 3/16oz size is something the fish hardly see, I often get fish out of spots that guys went through with a swim jig, perfect for post frontal conditions.
