Title: Looking for a scale

Any of you guys have suggestions on a good fish scale that won't break the bank?

I picked one up at dicks sporting goods that I like. Think it was like $15 and it's digital, has a built in tape measure, backlit screen, and an led flashlight. Wouldn't wanna get it wet but I really like it. When I get home I'll update on brand but try searching on dickssportinggoods.com

Are you looking for a digital or a spring scale? Lot of decent digital scales around.  I've seen a couple of decent spring scales at BassPro etc. But the only one I've used personally that is recommend is made by a company called Chattilon (hope the spelling is right). Not cheap but very accurate. At the time I bought mine they were the only spring scale that the IGFA would accept for a world record certification. Can't say if that's still true.

I have a set of Cull-m-Rites. They bad to the bone but the cost has gone out the roof.

Boga grips are IGFA certifiable as well.  They are spring scales and work well for larger fish.  Built like a tank; But; they are a little pricey. The one we have is the 60 lb. model and is the only scale that has held up to the abuse we put it through.  Originally designed for salt water, toothy, and cantankerous fish.  For bass tourney weights I would think a digital scale would be better.  Has anyone used the Rapala digital unit?

Bogas are great. About the only other spring scales I'd own.

I'm partial to the Cabela's 50# model... it's accurate to .2oz and can be had for $20 when on sale.
