Not sure if this should go in either of the 3 sections it may fit in, so I'll pick this one.
Spike-It has plastic dips and dyes, and scents in each. A less visible Brown Camo Stainless Wire is available. NO manufacturer offers a marker-type or brush-on dye/colorant to change the color of single-strand stainless wire. I know that's a tall order...look at what it takes to color and "blue" firearm steel.
Why not a marker-type or brush-on color/pigment that would tone-down the color of Bright Stainless Wire, on Spinnerbaits and Buzzbaits? Permanent markers stink bad.

Spike-It blade dip would will work, although not sure they have it in many dark colors. I know they have it in black.

I have stuff called "Lake Hawk blade and lure dip" and I have already taken the black and colored the wire on spinnerbaits. I was also give some kind of black wire but it was already bent into wire forms. Anyway, the Lake Hawk is probably like the spike it blade dip, it is essentially like a metal dye, when the red hook craze was going on I would dip spinnerbait hooks in the red dye and hang them on a rack in my toaster oven for 20 minutes at 200 degrees, it wasn't required but I found that by baking them after you added the dye it hold a little better but it was still easy to chip. I have to check out the camo stainless, thanks for letting us know.

Go to youtube and look at electro plating . There are some do it yourself kits . That won't come off . Can bet the crappy color on the hooks you buy is not electro plated . I use Dye Chem . It is used in machine shops to do layout on metal surfaces .
