Title: Top Injection vs Side Injection
Post by: RTL on 02/27/14 09:17 UTC
What is the difference besides the obvious on Top vs Side Injection Molds? Does it effect the way they blend in a Dual Injection? That would be my only thought / concern

Thank you guys in advance, I'm looking to purchase a new mold and I've got that option. I don't want to choose the wrong one.

It's more the way the mold is cut. Look at the boot tail vs swim shad. You can do dual injection with both of these molds. If they are cut like the boot tail you want a top inject. If you are looking at other sites for Molds if they don't tell you top or side  or give you a view of the mold I wouldn't buy it with out making a call first .

If you want easy use of a twin injector to get a laminated bait get the top injection plan and simple. can it be done with a side injector.. sure but your baits will not be consistant. The orientation of the bait in the mold does not make it condusive for laminates.
