Tommy Skarlis was a guest speaker at a local marine dealer today. His topic was crappies this morning while his afternoon subject is to be walleyes. I thought I should slip out there and listen to his presentation. What a treat.
Known as a walleye master, he certainly knows crappies just as well. His broad knowledge was a pure piece of pleasure to tap into. After his early presentation I had a chance to spend a few minutes chatting with him. He is a great person to talk to and his presentation skills are out of sight.
Tommy....it was nice to see you today and to have a minute to spend yacking. As you said, we have to fish. Let's get that done.

I'm glad you had a chance to get out and visit with Tommy, that's pretty cool. He's a good friend of mine and I've seen a number of his seminars. If you're into ice fishing and have a chance to see his seminar or visit with him about that side of fishing, you won't be disappointed. Many people would be surprised to find out how diversified Mr. April can be as it pertains to fish, fishing and fisheries. He really is as rounded an angler as I know.

I spent a day at a Grand Opening of a local store a number of years back and Tommy was there at another table. I was doing the Culprit products table that day. We spent a bunch of time that day talking of fishing. He is super interesting to listen to and his ideas go way beyond the "norm" for most anglers but his information is still clear enough for the lay angler to use. His presentation style makes him one of the better speakers to listen to. Anyone looking to expand their base of walleye or crappie lore would do well to attend any of Tommy's seminars.

You guys are both too kind - and I don't know how many times I have to say this: I'm not going to share with anyone the DIRT I have on either of you!!!! :D
I really enjoy my job and I hope it shows in my seminars! Thanks for the kind words!!!
