Well I was supposed to be on vacation this week, fishing at Toledo Bend. Tuesday morning I discovered my trim motor went out, after I trailered about 30 miles north. So now I'm bummed. My boat is really old, I refer to it as a money pit; I was taken to the cleaners when I bought it. So to repair, it's $200 in parts alone, I'm going to sell it dirt cheap. But, I won't let the same thing happen to the guy who buys it without telling him the problems. Life lesson; always bring someone with you who knows more than you, when buying a boat. There is zero chance a boat will be in my future for at least 3 or 4 years. :(
Oh, I will continue to make baits.

Sorry to hear it. You sound really bummed out and I can't blame you.

Sorry about your troubles.
I think most would agree, unless they got a miracle boat, they are all money pits - even a brand new boat. Crazy you have to spend $50K on something new, and then go work out the bugs. I have a 2006 Skeeter and a Kayak, guess which one I have less resentment for. ;D
If you want to downsize for a while I highly recommend this Kayak cross, it's what I have.

I love it and it catches fish just fine. There are even tournaments for Kayaks only. Only bad thing is I have rolled up on an alligator a few times. They always bolt, but it scares you half to death and then you just know it's getting ready to come up and either eat you, or mistake you for a female alligator and try and mate with you. :o
Tight lines!

Well you never know I could find a decent john boat at a good price and be happy with that. My ma-in-law just offered to let me use hers, she hardly uses it and it needs to be ran.
