I've shot a few laminates but not many. I've recently discovered that if I pour the plastic in the injector instead of suck it up, I get no bubbles or less bubbles. But to do that with a laminate is going to be near impossible....
How are you laminate pros shooting when doing small batches of 4oz's? Like I said, I get less bubbles if I pour the injector full instead of sucking it up. Even when doing bigger batches and using a presto pot, I still get bubbles if I suck it up?
Thanks

I'd take a close look at my injector. Sounds like air might be slipping by the o-rings as you draw the plastisol. If the o rings are in good shape, you can take those o rings out and take a piece of Teflon tape and wrap one full wrap around the oring channel and then reinstall the oring. If your orings are damaged in any way just replace them. One way to check your injector is to place your finger over the hole as you draw. If your plunger doesn't pull back to the purged position, your drawing air. Don't let your plunger slam back as this can damage your injector. Hope this makes sense and is helpful.

I don't ever fill the injector by pouring. I pull all of my plastic from cups. I've never been too picky about small bubbles in my plastic since I generally shoot very transparent colors and the bubbles serve to reflect even more light.

When you suck the plastic up are you purging it and then resucking it back in? This will eliminate that air pocket. If that doesn't do it check your o rings.

For laminates I use a Double injector and suck up from the cup no major bubbles most of the time. I do make worms for individuals who prefer bubbles because of what CTOM said they like the way the light reflects of the bubbles. I just dont know how to make micro bubbles on purpose.
Good luck.

Ya micro bubbles don't bother me at all -- with the second color I find shooting as cool as I can (I prefer 325) and not too fast - this cuts down on alot of bubbles
