Recently bought the tear drop mold with wire keeper. Since this is a plastic favorite jig what hooks do most of you guys like to run? I would like to use the eagle claw 574 size/style, but had poor luck with quality of the 570s. Are the 574 a better quality or does mustad or another company make a similar hook which is longer ?
Thanks in advance.

You can try Mustad style #s
32746, 32755, 32756
or Gamakatsu 604 all match up ot the 570, 575 pretty well.

You don't like the 570 hooks but I will tell you this, try the L570BP, that is the laser sharp 570 with black platinum finish. Eagle Claw retooled a few years ago and released the black platinum series of hooks and they are really good. You will notice these are more expensive than normal 570 hooks. I also like the Matzuo Sickle in the sizes 1/0 and smaller.

I guess my main question is there another hook company that makes a hook similar to the 574's?
The 574's are 1/4" longer then regular style hooks.

Mustad 32831, that is a long shank also.

Some new hooks that several friends have started pouring to fish in the wood is the new mustad 32889 extra lite wire jighooks,
I haven't tried them yet but I trust the reports on them from the guys I know. Right now they're only listed in size #2 and #4.
