Picked up a Garcia Mitchell 309 with an old Zebco 5'9" 2 piece fiberglass rod. Guy told me $2!! The wife says I got it. Got it home stripped all the old line off and took it apart and cleaned it all up.

That brings back some memories! Growing up, I remember my dad had more old Mitchells than you could shake a stick at, including a couple of the 309 models. Somehow, I think most of them got thrown away (not by dad) because I'll be darned if I can find them around any of his old tackle today.

I have no idea how many fish I caught on Mitchell 300's through 308's. Both fresh and salt water. Brings back fond memories. I still use a couple of 302's off the piers in Fla. You still see quite a few there. A true testimony to their quality. Old Penn 704's and 706's as well. Many of these reels are 30 - 40 years old.

Paul...for some of us 30-40 years old is like new.
