Title: "sexy Shad" Powder Color Question
Post by: MuckyWater_Baits on 06/16/14 09:17 UTC
Hey Guys,

Im looking to make my own version of the "Sexy Shad" swimjig. Im haveing a hard time finding the blueish color that is used. Its kind of a blueish green and somewhat pastel. I attached a pictrue below (i know it isnt a jig) but ive seen the top blue color on sexy shad swim jigs below. Anyone know the color name of the powder? Thanks.

I want to say that the blue is called "teal". Check out the "Dragon Fly" color, #78 in the powder paint selection located in the paint category on the Do-It store site. There is no teal color available but that dragon fly is awful close.

Columbia Coatings has a Candy Teal Translucent, if it's what you're looking for you can get 2 ozs. of it.

This is what it looks like on a jig head no base coat

This is the same color with a white pearl under coat

Glad to help - most of the other powder companies have some nice colors and they cure the same.  How much do you have to use to do plastics??

You can make you own and it is almost exact, if you take candy blue and mix it 50/50 with candy green you will get that color almost exact. If you want it to be a solid color instead of candy all you have to do is put it over top of a white base coat and you will match up perfectly. I've done that ecact color both ways on a spinnerbait and a swim jig.
