Does anyone know about how many rpm's the stirrers on presto pots turn. I am wanting to build one and i have a garage sale low rpm motor/gearbox. I am hoping I can make it work.
Thanks

Jeff:
Between 35 and 50 rpms is what I have read. Closer to 35 the better..
Hope yours works out!!!

I glad someone posted a Presto question, I wanted to get one in too. I was thinking about buying a small pot and dipping the injector in to draw out plastic. Once the plastic reaches 350 and I cut back on the dial, temp is somewhere where it's not lumping up, will it burn without a stirrer? Or can I stir occasionally while having enough time to inject?

Thanks Jim, I think my motor is turning about 30 rpm's (haven't counted it yet). I will let you know how it works. It looks like I've got some welding to do. :)

If you do your runs quick, you wont have an issue. If not, your flake will sink fast and you may get a little scortching.
If you use salt, a stirrer is a must in my book.
