Title: Legs....
Post by: ctom on 07/26/14 21:39 UTC
Anyone else finding that the baits they make develop legs while in the garage? lol I went out to get the boxes from my pail to put together a small tackle assortment for a cousin and my boxes seemed awfully shy on baits. The grandkids were here for the 4th which leads me to wonder if maybe they weren't setting some samples out to take home. I had to make about twenty different shots this afternoon/evening just to make my boxes look like I actually fish.

LOL  My jigs develop legs while I'm in the boat with my fishing partner all the time. Sometimes I catch him in the act and other times I notice my box is a little "light" at the end of the day. I don't have a problem with it though as he's the only one I fish with who actually offers and does give me money for jig making supplies. Once or twice a year he usually asks if "WE" need hooks, paint, supplies etc yet. I don't expect anyone I fish with to pay for stuff I make if they want to use it but he is one of the few that realizes that this stuff costs money to make and I appreciate that.

A couple years ago there was a Goodview Police car in my driveway for about a half an hour, which raised the interest of my neighbors. After he left, two of my neighbors came over to see what happened.

I explained that "someone came into my garage and took a bunch of my jigs and plastic baits"

They asked if I knew who did it....and I responded ....yeah...."The guy in the police car!".  ;D

I hear you 2XL. Most of my boat buddies proclaim to have tackle boxes but spend the bulk of their time in mine when we're fishing. That's one of the biggest reasons I make this stuff....to share. Its right along side with recipes and information here.

And Andy....I have buddies that work for Gold Cross ambulance service and they've been known to stop by while on duty. And a couple Deputies like my stuff too and they've been known to swing by on duty. We had a game warden from a neighboring county that was a good friend and if he was in Rochester's office he'd occasionally stop to pick up jigs of the shoot the breeze....of course he'd be driving the work truck with a full compliment of decals. It wasn't so much the neighbors as it was people driving past the house.
